CONSTRUCTION STAKING
THIS IS A LIMITED AND CONDITIONAL SERVICE PROVIDED BY A.R. DIVERS.
A.R. Divers offers as-built survey services and "limited" construction staking on projects where the firm has previously provided survey services. If a.r. divers prepared the original control, boundary or topography on a site, then they may be a natural fit to do as-built surveys and/or "limited" construction staking. When the initial work was performed by another surveyor and A.R. divers agrees to do the staking or as-built's, then it is the client's responsibility to provide all previous survey data to A.R. divers for verification prior to the commencement of any staking. data such as, boundary lines, control points, benchmarks and existing utility locations can not be presumed to be correct, they must be verified prior to staking for construction.
A full set of signed and approved construction plans (along with electronic files when available) and all control data is required for staking calculations. stakes can be set for features to be constructed at various stations and offsets as requested by the client; elevations of staking points can be placed upon the stakes, but cuts and fills relevant to proposed design grades are only provided on cut sheets after office review. It is the client's responsibility to provide all required information and have the engineer sign off on any changes during the process. During the staking process A.R. Divers requires adequate scheduling time for all staking, including any re-staking; advance notice is require so the appropriate survey calculations can be prepared and control data compiled.
A.R. Divers utilizes the latest technology for construction staking, including robotic total stations and RTK GPS. This technology often allows simple staking to be completed timely and accurately with just one field surveyor. These systems are further enhanced by sophisticated field computer / data collectors in the field.
